After pursuing a corporate career for years in 2007 Basak decided to follow her heart and focus on childbirth and yoga.  She continues to develop herself both as a teacher and a student of yoga and childbirth.  She has a daughter who was born naturally at a Turkish hospital.

>Graduated with honours from Bogazici University’s Business Administration Department in 1999
>Obtained her MBA from INSEAD in 2003
>1999-2007: Worked in Turkey and abroad as management consultant and strategy manager in companies like Monitor Group, America  Online and Coca-cola Enterprises

After DOUM

Childbirth:
>Obtained her childbirth educator diploma from Childbirth International (October 2008-June 2009)
>Has been producing and presenting Dogum Gunu, radioshow about natural birth on Acik Radio, with Nur since April 2009
>Attended Midwifery Today’s conference in Denmark and participated in workshops and trainings with world renown midwives and doctors like Ina May Gaskin, Dr. Michel Odent and Naoli Vinaver Lopez (May 2009)
>Was trained by teaching assistants of Istanbul Medicine Faculty’s anatomy department, Dr Aysin Kalne and Dr Ozcan Gayretli on anatomy of birth and pregnancy (February 2009)
>Attended Elena Tonetti’s Birth Into Being Apprenticeship Training in Berlin (September 2011)
>Is training to become a Lactation Consultant 
>Is a founding member of Doğana National Association for the the Rights of Women in Childbirth

Yoga and Meditation:
>Has been training yoga teachers on pregnancy yoga at Cihangir Yoga since October 2010
>Was trained on prenatal yoga by Uma Dinsmore Tuli at the Life Centre, London (October 2009)
>Completed her basic yoga teacher training with Zeynep Aksoy at Cihangir Yoga (October 2008-June 2009)
>Participated in Tias Little’s yoga anatomy training (May 2009)
>Attended Svagito Liebermeister’s training on the Zen Way of Counseling (November 2009)
